2018 CARLSBAD REUNION GREAT SUCCESS

This note from Dave Reynolds pretty much sums up the weekend:

"Kudos to John, Ken Rusty & BeBe for your wonderful efforts in hosting a great Luau @ Rusty & Bebe's magnificent Compound in Carlsbad this past weekend for the Tortuga reunion.  It was great seeing those of you that were there.  We only wish more of you could have attended but everyone there still looks pretty good for a bunch of "Old Farts".  It's also wonderful to see that the Tortuga scholarship endowment is doing so well. I will continue to make my CMC Alumni contribution to the scholarship fund. Hopefully, we cando this again in the near future as we aren't getting any younger.  Who knows, possibly in La Jolla.  Our best to all and sincere thanks for such a good time.  Dave & Marlene Reynolds"

Friday night we gathered at Miguel's Restaurant in Carlsbad.  The owner's are long time friends of Nick Frazee and his family.  We were joined by Nick's son Daniel (a CMC grad) and Dan's daughter, and collectively we paid tribute to Nick with special thanks for all he did to promote the scholarship endowment with the college's authorities.

Saturday we first ate at Rusty and Bebe's beach house, admiring the ocean view and noting all the remodeling in process as they upgrade a nice beach place into a superb one.  Then in the evening the fabulous luau at the country compound, with roast pig and other vittles from Rusty's favorite caterers, entertainment from Hawaiian friends of John, and tall tales from all of us.

Sunday another eating opportunity, brunch for the road.
