Tortugateers of Prado Dam

"A total of about 40 people gathered in Palm Desert the first weekend in April, for a series of activities organized in large part by Bob Lowe.  Many of us stayed at the Miramonte Resort, and enjoyed a Friday night reception at the Lowe's memorable residence at The Reserve Club. This was followed by a late dinner at Captain Jack's, arranged with the help of John Stiles.

On Saturday, we found different ways to enjoy the desert habitat, some playing golf and watching Bill Symington smack that little white ball around the landscape.   Late afternoon we returned to The Reserve Club for an elegant barbeque at a rocky hillside site within the property.  Fine food, fine drinks, lots of reminiscing  ... possibly an exaggeration or two mixed into the conversations.   Then back to the Miramonte for a few of us, last drinks and stories and preliminary ideas about the next time and place we will get together.
